Who we are

Former instructor pilots, commanders and combat veterans concerned about the quality and cost of student pilot training at Fort Rucker

Our Mission

  • Get support for a Congressional Reporting Requirement (CRR) that tasks the DOD or Army to develop a requirement for a more cost efficient and effective training helicopter
    • The Army must develop a training helicopter requirement
    • Advisors for the Senators listed below were briefed on the issues and recommendations
    • Senator Kelly (AZ), Senator Reed (RI), Senator Kaine (VA) and Senator Tuberville (AL) (all members of the Armed Services Committe)
    • More engagements are needed with other elected representatives, refer to the Campaign Planning page for more information
  • Success:

     Phase One:

The DOD or Army Completing the analysis and the reports defined in the CRR

    • Develop an approved training helicopter requirement that will:
    • ✔ Save taxpayer funds using a lower cost aircraft
    • ✔ Effectively train pilots in flight fundamentals, terrain flight navigation, instrument flight and basic combat skills

       Phase Two:

      Elected representatives provide procurement funding

"you get what you inspect, not what you expect"

A training helicopter requirement is needed!

The Army is wasting $14 million per month, $170 million a year using the UH-72A Twin Engine Utility helicopter for training student pilots.

Become a taxpayer advocate, contact your elected representative and educate them on why a lower cost training helicopter is needed
